Even though 2003 was less than desirable, I have a lot of hope for 2004. We will surely have the usual
stupidities and dumb sequels, the failed epics and the awful romantic comedies. But on the other side
we'll have lots of Nicole Kidman (three new movies!!!!), a Scorsese movie about a "rich" guy, the nice
looking sequels and some starting franchises including a breathtaking retro sci fi flick starring Gwyneth!!
So without any more delays, here they are:
2004 MUST SEES...
The Sure Guilty Pleasures
- Catwoman Halle Berry.....that costume....eventhough it'll have nothing to do with what we "know" about the character, it'll surely be campy as hell!!! - Van Helsing From the makers of "The Mummy" comes a brand new monster hunter film. Set in the 1800s and starring Hugh Jackman (who curiously reminds me of "The Mummy"s Brendan Fraser...) - Garfield He's voiced by Bill Murray!!! Although the humans are played by Breckin Meyer (shudders!) and Jennifer Love Hewitt (eek)...the cat is voiced by Bill Murray!!!! - The Day After Tomorrow I really like my July disaster flick, do you have a problem with that???

The Potential BOMBS
- King Arthur
... This year's Pearl Harbor???
-Troy
I have a feeling one of this year's epics will be seriously bad, I just have a feeling this
might be it, despite that cast.
-The Manchurian Candidate
I am not a fan of the original and remakes aren't used to be good, but I can't deny one
thing: nothing starring Meryl Streep is completely bad.
- Exorcist IV: The Beginning
Read the title.
Sequels Galore!!!
-Spider Man 2
Powered by one of the best trailers I've seen in years this'll surely be one of the year's
biggest hits and why not, a movie just as good as the first?
- Shrek 2
If they keep the humor, the charm and the originality of the Oscar winning predecessor, I
will be there.
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
New director (the just genial Alfonso Cuarón) a new character played by Gary Oldman
and more than year and a half of expectancy this will be HUGE.
Not so sure yet...
- The Village
I'm not a Shyamalan fan, but I respect his job very much and this supernatural period
piece just looks like the film that will convert me.
- Collateral
Same here, not a big Tom Cruise, Michael Mann fan, but we'll see...
- The Terminal
Spielberg...Hanks...!!! Catherine Zeta-Jones...I just don't see her with them! I have tried
believe me.
- Neverland
The cast is fantastic, but I don't know what kind of biopic will it be...
- Cinderella Man
Although I love Renee Zellweger and Russell Crowe, I still have nightmares regarding
Ron Howard.
- The Ladykillers
It's the Coens and Tom Hanks which means it could be "Fargo"(yay!) or "O Brother
Where Art Thou"(scary...)
- Shark Tale
I'm not so sure that fishes voiced by Angelina Jolie, Renee Zellweger and Martin
Scorsese can make me forget the priceless austerity and honesty of non A listers Albert
Brooks and Ellen DeGeneres in "Finding Nemo".
- The Alamo
It was delayed for a reason.
